Welcome

No Experience Needed

You do not need to know anything about tango, and you do not need to be a natural dancer. Everything is explained from the very beginning, in small steps, so you always know what you are doing and why.

Come on your own or with a friend. No partner is required, and we encourage changing partners throughout the class.

Questions

Before Your First Class

Do I need a partner?

No, you do not need to come with a partner. Tango is a social, improvised dance, and we encourage changing partners throughout the class. This is the best way to learn: everyone moves differently, so you get to practise with many people and feel how real improvised tango works.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable that you can move freely in. There is no need to dress up for class. Since you will be changing partners throughout, we recommend bringing a fresh top if you have had an active day.

What shoes should I bring?

Comfortable shoes that stay securely on your feet and have a smooth sole, so you can turn easily. High heels are not necessary. Please avoid trainers with sticky, rubbery soles. If you would like proper Argentine Tango shoes, you can purchase them from the studio.

What if I have two left feet?

That is exactly who this class is for. Every movement is broken down into small, clear steps, and you are never expected to keep up with anyone but yourself.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, please book your spot online so we can plan the class. Choose your role, leader or follower, when you book.
